Friendship ring.

“Being a nerd, which is to say going too far and caring too much about a subject, is the best way to make friends I know.” – Sarah Vowell

How do you make (and keep) friends? What would be your advice to someone who’s moving, or who just started at our school? How did you make your friend(s)? Do you think it’s better to have one or two close friends, or a lot of friends? Have your friends changed over time?

  1. It’s hard to know how you make a friend, but easier to know how you keep one – be honest, loyal, and help your friend when they need it, even if it’s a tough thing to do. There is an old saying, “if you want a friend, be a friend.” I guess that means just be friendly and open-minded, treat others as you want to be treated, and be yourself. I like Sarah Vowell’s quote, because it reminds me of the friends I have, they are also passionate, creative people, and very funny, too.
