Towns and Cities We Love…

Ghirardelli Square, San Francisco, September 2008

My husband and I went on an anniversary trip to San Francisco. One of the prettiest places was Ghirardelli Square, and it was chocolate land! It smelled good, and there was a really beautiful mermaid sculpture.

I had one of the best chocolate shakes I’ve ever had — it was smooth, creamy, and truly chocolaty. I wonder if Roald Dahl got inspired to write Charlie and the Chocolate Factory based on a real candy maker.

Mrs. Love Tries to Podcast

Love Podcast 1

Here is my first attempt at podcasting. I can think of many fantastic uses for this. It’s a little daunting when you first try it. As I become more skilled at podcasting, I want to add music, create book talks, teacher read-alouds, read for writer’s workshop, the list goes on and on!  Email me about ways you think student-directed podcasting would be useful. This is the year of “big ideas” and creativity — go for it!
